Anxiety and Stress Support Group
for African Americans
Every Thursday from 7 pm - 8:30 pm EST via ZOOM
July is Minority Mental Health Awareness Month
Of course, we know and understand that Mental Health conditions do not discriminate based on race, color, gender, or identity. Anyone can experience the challenges of mental illness regardless of their background. However, background and identity can make access to mental health treatment much more difficult. National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month was established in 2008 to start changing this. (NAMI.org)
Lack of information and misconceptions surrounding mental health issues prevent many people of the African American community from getting the help and support they need.
Support Groups lets you know "You Are Not Alone" it gives you the opportunity to express your feelings without the fear of judgment. To share your thoughts, your resources, and learn and share coping skills that can possibly help someone else. You have the opportunity to meet and make new friends and develop a positive support team.
