“One of the most beautiful qualities of friendship is to understand and be understood.”

Thank you for your support throughout the years through your gifts, memberships,  and sharing your time with us as volunteers. But most of all, thank you for being a friend.

The holiday season can be one of the most stressful times of the year.  Endless tasks, holiday clamor, and exhaustion can lead to depression, making it difficult to feel thankful.  In the midst of it all, remember to take care of yourself. Take a moment and just breathe.  Like all areas of our lives, good mental health needs to be nurtured. So have that cup of tea, spend time with a friend, or go for a short walk.

Being mindful of our own mental health needs is only part of the journey. NAMI Durham knows through experience what it means to be understood and the role understanding plays in fostering good mental health. Through teaching, sharing our experiences, and supporting each other through crisis, we are helping and healing. There is hope.

As supporters of our mission, we ask that you help us spread the word and share the hope.  For as little as $5, the door is opened to having access to education classes, family and peer supports, advocacy, and more. With each membership, we increase our voting power, which strengthens NAMI’s impact with local, state, and national leaders and legislators to spread awareness, shape legislation, and remove stigmas. You are with us every step of the way.

The cost is minimal, the impact significant.

Spread the word and give the gift of Hope today!
